- W3086769532 abstract ":The purpose of this study was to establish a reference value for serum uric acid level in the pediatric region using the Japanese Claims database, and to determine factors affecting uric acid level. :Administrative Claims data on DPC (Diagnosis Procedure Combination) hospitals from Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. were used, which had patients with serum uric acid levels (997,1901 patients, 6,994,586 laboratory values) from April 2008 to June 2019.According to previous report, cases younger than 15 years were divided into six age groups from the population excluding patients with a disease or medication record that was reported to be a cause of elevated uric acid. Using a one-way analysis of variance, tests for differences in means were performed between each age group and between the gender. :The mean (mg / dl) and upper limit (mean + 2SD) of serum uric acid levels in each age group were under 1 year 4.20 (7.92), 1 to 3 years 3.98 (6.07), 4 to 6 years 3.90 (5.84),7-9 years 3.97 (5.75), 10-12 years 4.49 (6.82), 13-15 years 5.26 (8.03). Compared to previous report (2.9, 3.3, 3.6, 4.2, 4.3, 5.0), the mean value of this study tended to be higher overall, and especially the mean value for children under one year tended to be conspicuous higher. And also, significant difference was observed between 10 year or older groups, and between genders in the groups of 10 years or older. :A standard criteria serum uric acid in the pediatric area was prepared using Claims database in Japan, and compared to previous studies, a higher mean value was obtained. It is possible that factors that show high uric acid levels, such as low birth weight infants and Kawasaki disease, could not be adequately excluded." @default.
