- W3087948944 abstract "Objective: To examine the prevalence postpartum depression (PPD)following assisted reproductive technology (ART) predisposes women to increased risk compared to women who conceived spontaneously. Methods: One hundred two nulliparous women who had conceived spontaneously (n = 92) and through ART (n = 70) who have a successful child-related outcome in this prospective cohort study. The postpartum depression was assessed using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS≧10 ) were used for assessing depression symptoms respectively. Student’s t-test with Chi-square test were performed with PPD as the outcome. During an 8.5 month period participants completed interviews and questionnaires at 3,6,9, and postpartum 6 weeks of follow-up. ART in reproductive medicine center and women conceived spontaneously in medical center. Results: The prevalence of PPD was no difference between the conceived spontaneously and after ART (30.4% and 20.0% respectively, p = 0.13). Aside from the slightly older maternal age in the ART group (31.6 and 35.1, p ＜ 0.0001), baseline socio-demographics were similar. Conclusion(s): Women pregnant after ART showed no difference in PPD compared to spontaneously pregnant women. women who conceive using ART are not at an increased risk PPD. The ratio of this study is higher than other studies, suggests that patients would benefit from being routinely assessed for a history of antepartum depression to best direct psychosocial support and interventions to those most in need." @default.
