Moreover, the continuation of the current poverty situation will exploit community-owned capabilities and untapped potentials thus directing these minds to conduct routine day-to-day affairs of life without having outlook towards a new and promising future. The research project scope is in the framework of the Millennium Development Goals, and taking into consideration the importance of poverty alleviation in Egyptian Societies, especially the rural sector, as well as activating the principles of sustainable development. The research project has adopted the first and seventh goals of the Millennium Development Goals (eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, ensuring environmental sustainability) and considered as the basis of the research project. The research project aimed to a set a group of policies and programs and applied projects (some has been already implemented) that will contribute to the achievement of these goals with the application to poorest societies. The researchers chosen the Local Municipality Unit Almonshaa Elkobrah”, Assiut Governorate, as a case study, based on a previous research work named “The Initiative for 1000 Poorest Villages” that have been adopted and implemented by the Egyptian governments since 2007. The Main research results reflect the following basic concepts:  The eradication of extreme poverty and hunger through the use of initiatives and innovative policies and programs that realistically fit with the privacy and the ability and potential of these local communities which is what has been achieved in the development of the set of proposals established in the Local Municipality Unit Almonshaa Elkobrah”, Assiut Governorate  Addressing poverty and achieving sustainable development must employ development opportunities in various economic sectors at the regional level and not only at the local level to achieve these goals.  The research elaborates the importance of the spatial dimension to reflect the goals of economic development, social, cultural, etc… within the comprehensive development system." @default.
