The recruitment strategy of most successful banks has drastically shiftedfrom the traditional method to e-recruitment owing to it’s proficiency in work flow and data among others.This study examined the effect of e-recruitment on selection process with a focus on ten selected banks inthe banking and finance industry, located in Lagos, Nigeria. It verified the various methods of e-recruitmentwith the view to ascertaining the popular ones used by the banks. The study also determined the prospectsand challenges of e-recruitment. The study adopted survey method and structured questionnaire to collectdata. The questionnaire was structured in line with Likert-five point scale. The test of hypotheses wasperformed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) one-way test. It was discovered that corporate websites isthe predominant e-recruitment method adopted by the banks. It was also revealed that cost effectiveness isthe chief reason why banks adopt e-recruitment. It was discovered that processing of huge data base is themajor bane of e-recruitment. The study recommended that banks should focus more efforts on the technicalefforts of e-recruitment so as to accommodate the ever increasing data base. It was also recommended that erecruitment should be supplemented with the traditional method of newspaper adverts to handle routine andnon-technical jobs.." @default.
