- W3091645712 abstract "A composite of MoC x nanoparticles dispersed in nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube (MoC x /NCNT) was prepared by a simple method comprising annealing MoCl 5 , CNT, and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) in one-pot at 700 °C under argon atmosphere. The NTA enables simultaneous formation of carbide and N-doped CNT by acting as carbon and nitrogen sources. The resultant MoC x /NCNT showed high activity in hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) with a small overpotential of 136 mV at current density of 10 mA/cm 2 and good stability for 3000 potential cycles. The high HER performance of MoC x /NCNT was probably due to synergistic effect between highly active MoC x phase and the NCNT providing large surface area and high electrical conductivity. • A facile synthesis of nanostructured MoC x /NCNT composite is demonstrated. • Carbide formation and N-doping are simultaneously achieved by the aid of NTA. • MoC x /NCNT is used as a catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). • MoC x /NCNT shows high activity and stability for HER under acid media." @default.
