- W3093646759 abstract "Thermal environment in ice arenas is significantly different from that in common commercial buildings. Strict dry and cold environment is required near the ice for sports standards, while the spectators in view stands would prefer a comfortable environment. A zoning air conditioning scheme with two alternative displacement air supply systems is proposed for an ice arena, and the on-site measurement is carried out in the present research. Ground displacement ventilation is used in the ice area, while seat displacement ventilation is used for spectators. Results show that the temperature and humidity ratio near the ice vary at the range of 6.8–9.6 °C, 2.9–3.1 g/kg respectively in any conditions. In the ice area, the controlling height of air parameters is about 1.25 m with obvious stratification in vertical direction. At the same time, the operating temperature is maintained at about 20 °C in the spectator area within thermal comfort range. It is hoped to provide a new idea for the air conditioning terminal in ice arenas, especially for the large space arenas." @default.
