- W3097438028 abstract "This work aims to investigate the light group velocity in cylindrical quantum dots (QDs) under electromagnetically induced transparency phenomenon. The second quantization formalism is used to solve the problem because this system is considered as a many body system. By using annihilation and creation operators in fully quantum approach and density matrix method the effects of different parameters such as the photons number of control and probe laser fields, height and radius of QD on the group velocity are investigated. The results show that the slow light frequency ranges can be created with a small number of photons. Also, it is shown that the width of slow light frequency ranges depends on the photons number of the control laser fields and the polarization of light. Moreover, we compare group velocity for z- and x-polarization." @default.
