- W309987463 abstract "Our long-term experiments were carried out on chernozem soil in eastern part of Hungary under continental climatic conditions. The results of our long term experiments on chernozem soil proved that cropyear, mainly via its water supply, had a major impact on the yields of winter wheat varieties. The cropyear modified the natural nutrient utilization of winter wheat genotypes. The water supply of cropyear determined the maximum yields of wheat genotypes, too. The favourable water supply of vegetation period decreased the optimum fertilizer doses of winter wheat varieties (it was N50+PK in the average of varieties) compared with the optimum fertilizer dose in dry and hot cropyear (N125+PK in the average of varieties). In our long-term experiments we obtained the excellent yields of maize in the cropyear characterized by optimum water supply and heat units. The croprotation strongly influenced the optimum fertilizer doses of maize. The optimum fertilizer doses were N240+PK in monoculture, N120+PK in biculture and N60+PK in triculture in the average of plant densities. The maximum yields of maize were 12400-13700 kg ha -1 in monoculture, 12500-13700 kg ha -1 in biculture and 1300015000 kg ha -1 in triculture depending on plant density, respectively in the cropyear characterized by optimum precipitation amount and distribution. It was strudied in a long-term experiment on chernozem soil, the effect of croprotation, irrigation, fertilization and plant density on the yield of maize in an extremely dry year, too. The effect of water supply and irrigation on yield was strongly modified by croprotation and the impacts of fertilization and plant density were moderated on the yield of maize. The yield-surpluses of irrigation were 3100-3400 kg ha -1 in monoculture, they were 1700-2300 kg ha -1 in biculture, they were 19002600 kg ha -1 in triculture, respectively. In favourable cropyear we obtained very high yields (12-15 t ha -1 ) with application of appropriate agrotechnical elements. In dry cropyear it was important to irrigate and to harmonize the other agrotechnical elements to obtain the stable yields (10-11 t ha -1 )." @default.
