• W3100179580 abstract "The research objectives are: (1) To describe the family involvement at PT Musim Mas, Medan; (2) To evaluate the firm’s performance of PT Musim Mas, Medan; (3) To analyze whether family involvement has effect on firm’s performance at PT Musim Mas, Medan.Over the past decades, family business research has been dominated by considerable efforts to investigate the influence of family involvement in the business on firm financial performance. A recent review of the literature revealed that the empirical evidence is mixed, but on average family involvement exerts a small positive impact on firm financial performance. This research was conducted by using quantitative method. Data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis methods used in this research are descriptive statistic, validity test, reliability test, normality test, correlation test, determination test, linearity test, heteroscedasticity test, analysis of linear regression equation, and T-test. The sampling method used is cencus sampling, with the total of 90 persons.Based on the data analysis, the coefficient of linear regression = 1.065 (positive). This means that family involvement (X) has positive influence towards firm’s performance (Y). The value of determination coefficient R2 gives the value of 0.477. This value means that family involvement (X) is simultaneously influence firm’s performance (Y) equal to 47.7%, and the rest of 52.3% is influenced by other factors. The result of hypothesis test by using T-Test, the value of tcount = 8.960. It means that hypothesis alternative is accepted because tcount (8.960) > ttable (1.9873). Therefore, family involvement has significant influence on firm’s performance at PT Musim Mas, Medan.It is recommended that the company always pay attention to factors that can influence firm’s performance, not only from family involvement perspective, but also other factors, such as: commodity price, employee performance, promotion, product quality, service quality, etc. Instead of this, it is recommended for companies to be able to look for other strategies for growing company performance, such as: good promotion and marketing, product innovation, and production cost efficiency. / Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Menjelaskan keterlibatan keluarga di PT Musim Mas, Medan; (2) Mengevaluasi kinerja perusahaan di PT Musim Mas, Medan; (3) Menganalisa jika ada pengaruh antara keterlibatan keluarga terhadap kinerja perusahaan di PT Musim Mas, Medan.Selama beberapa dekade terakhir, banyak upaya yang telah dilakukan terhadap penelitian mengenai bisnis keluarga untuk menyelidiki pengaruh keterlibatan keluarga dalam bisnis terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan. Sebuah tinjauan terbaru dari literatur mengungkapkan beragam bukti empiris, dimana pada umumnya menyatakan bahwa keterlibatan keluarga memberikan dampak positif yang kecil terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Metode analisis data yang digunakan antara lain: statistik deskriptif, uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji korelasi, uji determinasi, uji linearitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, analisis persamaan regresi linear, dan uji-T. Metode sampel yang digunakan adalah sensus sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 90 orang.Berdasarkan hasil data analisis, nilai koefisien regresi linear = 1.065 (positif). Hal ini berarti bahwa keterlibatan keluarga (X) memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap kinerja perusahaan (Y). Nilai koefisien determinasi R2 adalah 0.477. Nilai ini berarti bahwa keterlibatan keluarga (X) memberikan pengaruh secara simultan terhadap kinerja perusahaan (Y) sebesar 47.7% dan sisanya sebesar 52.3% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lainnya. Hasil uji hipotesis yang dilakukan dengan uji-T, didapatkan nilai Thitung = 8.960. Hal ini berarti bahwa hipotesis alternatif diterima karena thitung (8.960) > ttabel (1.9873). Oleh karena itu, keterlibatan keluarga memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan di PT Musim Mas, Medan.Disarankan bagi perusahaan untuk selalu memperhatikan faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan, tidak hanya dari sisi keterlibatan keluarga saja, tetapi juga dari faktor lainnya, seperti: harga komoditas, kinerja karyawan, promosi, kualitas produk, kualitas servis, dan sebagainya. Selain itu, perusahaan juga disarankan untuk dapat mempertimbangkan strategi lainnya dalam meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan, seperti: promosi dan pemasaran yang baik, inovasi produk, dan efisiensi harga produksi." @default.
