- W3100188112 abstract "Relationships between neuroanatomy and human behavior have largely been defined through observable damage to brain structures and corresponding changes in behavior. A number of conditions have been determined to originate in the cortex and in the past were termed cortical disease. Others, with perceivable damage in subcortical regions, display different behavioral analogues and have been referred to as subcortical disease. In this chapter, we will describe subcortical structures and discuss how cortical and subcortical regions work in coordination through specific feedback loops to produce a variety of human behaviors. Additionally, we will provide examples of dysfunctions within specific feedback loops and how they affect normative behavior." @default.
