In this study, we report a facile strategy to synthesis TiO2/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) composite through sol–gel methods. TiO2 coupled with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) increases the specific surface area and provides rich interfaces, which is conducting shuttle and transfer of Na+ in the system; the carbon coating as a buffer layer can effectively inhibit the volume expansion during insertion/extraction of Na+ process. When applied as anode material for SIBs, the as-prepared TiO2/MWCNTs delivers high reversible capacities of 226 mAh g−1 after 140 cycles at 0.1 A g−1. The crystal structure and morphology of TiO2/MWCNTs materials were also characterized by XRD, TEM, and SEM." @default.
