- W3100464108 abstract "Silica gel supported ionic liquid ([Bmim]CoCl3) catalytic material was prepared by a simple sol–gel method and after coupling with [Bmim]BF4 and oxone, it was used for deep desulfurization. The results revealed that the [Bmim]CoCl3 was beneficial to increase the specific surface area of the catalyst. The catalyst size was in the micrometer range, and decomposition temperature started at 300 °C. 15 wt% [Bmim]CoCl3 was successfully loaded on silica gel with 2.91 nm meso-pores structure. A desulfurization rate of 99.5% was obtained at the initial sulfur content of 500 ppm, simulated oil content of 3 g, [Bmim]BF4 content of 0.75 g, 20 wt% oxone solution of 0.2 g, catalyst loading of 0.1 g, reaction temperature of 30 °C, and reaction time of 30 min. The desulfurization of the three sulfur-containing substances followed the order of dibenzothiophene (DBT) > benzothiophene > 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene. In addition, after the catalyst was recycled 5 times, the desulfurization rate was still maintained above 90%. According to the GC–MS result, the desulfurization mechanism was speculated as follows: DBT first extracted from the n-octane phase enters into the [Bmim]BF4 phase and then gets oxidizes to DBTO2 by the catalyst and oxone." @default.
