Para ello, se han consultado periodicos deportivos de la epoca en la hemeroteca nacional, articulos, libros especializados y revistas. La presente aportacion, aparte de informar de como era el futbol en el pasado, pretende iniciar un inedito analisis historico de indole constructivista en torno a la evolucion del juego en Espana. Part One (1899-1920) Abstract: Football is a huge mass phenomenon worldwide, a sport that everyone speaks about day after day. Like everything, however, it had a beginning. In this article we bring the reader closer to the origins of football in Spain, from the time of its arrival in the late nineteenth century, until 1920, the year in which the Spanish national team participated for the first time at an Olympic Games. The objective of this study is to clarify how the game was played and how the sport used to be trained. The article covers the tactical, technical and physical aspects of football. To this end, sports newspapers from the period under study were consulted in the national periodicals archive, as were articles, specialist books and magazines. The information that we set out here highlights the significant development that football has undergone since its introduction in reaching its maturity as a team sport. In addition to providing information on the football of the past, this article aims to initiate an unprecedented historical analysis of a constructivist nature regarding the development of the game in Spain. Com este artigo aproximaremos o leitor das origens do futebol em Espanha, desde a sua chegada nos finais do seculo XIX, ate 1920, ano em que a Selecao espanhola participou pela primeira vez nos Jogos Olimpicos. O objetivo deste estudo e esclarecer como se jogava e como se treinava antigamente este desporto. Aspetos taticos, aspetos tecnicos ou aspetos fisicos do futebol, sao os temas que constituem este artigo. Para tal, foram consultados jornais desportivos da epoca, no arquivo nacional, artigos, livros especializados e revistas. A presente informacao mostra a significativa evolucao que o futebol sofreu desde o seu inicio ate atingir maturidade como desporto coletivo. A presente contribuicao, alem de informar como era o futebol no passado, pretende iniciar uma analise historica inedita de indole construtiva em torno da evolucao do jogo em Espanha.
