- W3106562016 abstract "V2O5-TeO2-P2O5 (VTP) glasses are an important class of anode materials for potential applications in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) owing to their unique structure, electronic conductivity and nano-crystal formation induced by the discharging/charging cycles. To enhance the cycling stability of the VTP glass anodes for LIBs, it is crucial to investigate their mechanical and dynamic properties. In this paper, we study the mechanical and dynamic properties of the VTP glass system by substituting P2O5 for TeO2. We found that the glass transition temperature (Tg), the hardness and the elastic moduli increase with the substitution, whereas the liquid fragility index (m) decreases. These trends could be attributed to the two factors. First, the substitution of P2O5 for TeO2 can lead to increased network connectivity. Second, the substitution makes the glass network more rigid due to the stronger P-O bond than Te-O and V-O bonds. These results are useful for designing the mechanically stable glass electrodes for LIBs." @default.
