- W310734268 abstract "This paper presents a novel method for the determination of average winding temperature rise of transformers under its field operating conditions. Rise in the winding temperature is determined from the estimated values of winding resistance during the heat run test. The method uses genetic algorithm as a parameter estimation tool to estimate the winding resistance in an in-situ basis using the easily measurable signals viz., supply voltage, current, input power and load resistance of the transformer. This method finds its application in overload management and monitoring of health of transformers. Results of the method are validated experimentally from the measured value of hot resistance." @default.
