- W3107620295 abstract "High-Frequency Surface Wave Radar (HFSWR) is a powerful means for sea monitoring and surveillance. This radar has various functionalities for observing the sea state, early detecting tsunami, and detecting ships. Working in the high- frequency band can cover vast sea areas but relatively low resolution, especially for detecting ships. This challenge increases the complexity of radar signal processing due to which the radar simulator is significantly required. This paper proposed the simulation to demonstrate the signal processing in HF radar to apply for ship detections. The simulation contributes to generating the received signal in each receiver array element by which it can be utilized to assess any beam-forming algorithm. The simulator includes generating the received signal, signal preprocessing, a classical beam-steering algorithm, ship detection, and joint detection between two radars. The simulation demonstrates the ship detection of six linearly moving ships in the radar scene. The joint detection between two radars shows the mean accuracy of 1.12 km, which is better than the single radar detection less than radar's range resolution. Besides, the simulator can be utilized for further scrutiny on HFSWR signal processing." @default.
