- W3108786825 abstract "Different from the traditional research and design of new materials and coatings, three types of surface microstructures including V-shape, U-shape, and ring-shape groove microstructures were performed to enhance the slurry erosion resistance. Slurry erosion experiments were carried out on a home-made rotating disc erosion rig on the conditions of the velocity of 8.25 m/s and sand containing 5 wt%. Mass loss measurements, micro-morphology, and roughness observation combined with flow field analysis were employed to reveal the erosion mechanism. The results showed that the erosion rate of the V-shape groove microstructure was approximately 69% and 93% of the U-shape, and ring-shape groove microstructures respectively. The most severe slurry erosion occurred on the incident flow surfaces of the V-shape and U-shape grooves, and the bottom surface of the ring-shape groove. Vortex flow in the grooves contributed to the erosion difference on the grooved surfaces and the top surface in the way of changing impingement velocity and angle." @default.
