- W3109682302 abstract "In recent years, the number of smart devices has a tremendous growth and brought, along with the high Internet connectivity, about the emergence of the IoTs as a new computing paradigm that resulted in a dramatic change in many areas of life, including Smart Home, Smart Cities, Smart Industry, Smart Traffic, Smart Grids, etc. However, to a great extent, this rapid growth of the smart devices and communication technologies have not resulted in significant implementation of IoTs. There are many challenges associated with the IoTs yet to be addressed to pave the transformation to the smart world. One obstacle is the lack of computing resources of the IoT devices to collect, process, store, and transmit the huge amount of generated data which demands high speed, large capacity, and high reliability, and availability. This paper presents a survey on the integration of IoT, fog, and cloud with a focus on the state-of-the-art of resource allocation. The paper also discusses open challenges yet to be addressed in this field." @default.
