- W3111173641 abstract "The present study conducted on thirty patients with scabies. Blood samples were collected before and after treatment in addition to 30 controls, that used in immunological study to determine the effect of infection with scabies on concentrations of IL-31, β-endorphin, PAR2 (Protease-activated receptor 2) before and after treatment. The sim of this study is to examine the immunological response in patients after becoming infected with scabies. All these cases were collected from Healthy centers of camps Kaparto1and 2, Sharyia and Khanki in Duhok governorate and diagnosed by clinical examination and light microscopic method for examining the Sarcoptes scabiei mite or its eggs, at laboratories of these centers from March 2019 to about 30 January 2020. Immunological parameter including interleukin-31, β-endorphin, PAR2 (Protease-activated receptor 2) were assessed using ELISA. Results of study showed that IL-31, β-endorphin, PAR2 (Protease-activated receptor 2) significantly increasing (P <0.05) in their concentrations before treatment in patients with scabies (16.535 ±3.0164 pg /ml), (13.160 ±0.41134 pg /ml), (18. 612 ±1.7112 pg/ml) respectively, in compared to the control group (6.5307±0.96030 pg /ml), (10. 308±0. 6138 pg /ml), (10. 970±1. 0610 pg /ml) respectively, but after treatment the results of study revealed that IL-31, β- endorphin, PAR2 (Protease-activated receptor 2) in patients with scabies non-significantly increased (P< 0.05) (9. 3286 ±1. 1130 pg /ml), (11.309 ±0.50313 pg /ml), 1.6864 ±0.18503 pg /ml) respectively in compared to the control group (6.5307±0.96030 pg /ml), (10. 308±0. 6138 pg /ml), (1. 3012±0. 15098 pg /ml) respectively. From the current study we concluded that scabies disease influences on the human immunity represented by the (IL-31, β-endorphin, PAR2 (Protease-activated receptor 2) in patients infected with scabies and may be used as good biomarkers in detection of scabies." @default.
