- W3111660187 abstract "In order to overcome some drawbacks of CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) technologies such as probability of leakage, shortage of storage places and so on, CCU (Carbon Capture and Utilization) technologies have been studied for some years. One of the difference between those two technology is that useful product can be produced through CCU technologies. However, produced substances such as metal carbonate should show adequate characteristics to be used in real industry. In this research, calcium carbonate formation was investigated using concentrated seawater-based industrial wastewater. Since various metal cations were contained in seawater-based industrial wastewater, metal carbonate formation is possible. However, without further purification step, produced metal carbonate salt is hard to be used. One of the purification method is to separate calcium cation before the carbonation reaction. In order to separate it, calcium cation was separated as a form of insoluble salt. After separation, carbonation reaction is triggered and high purity calcium carbonate could be obtained. To prove inhanced properties of product, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) curves were suggested. With these results, calcium carbonate application could be possible and high purified metal carbonate rather than calcium carbonate could be possible." @default.
