- W3112648022 abstract "A suitable process for modifying PVA with nicotinic acid to generate a graft copolymer was developed. The copolymers received as ligand were complexed with MnII and CoII ions. The coordination of this copolymer with the metal ion and the inclusion of nicotinic acid in the PVA copolymer was ascertained by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. EPR and UV–vis spectra of complexes indicates that CoII as square planar geometry and MnII as octahedral complexes. The adsorption of IC dye onto CoII/NA-PVA complex was noticeably greater (90%) than MnII/NA-PVA complexes. The DFT quantum chemical calculation was applied against the tested compounds. Optimization geometry and frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs) postulated that the charge transfer occurred from metal to ligands. The calculated NLOs properties for these polymers were higher character than reference material." @default.
