These devices employ a sensing layer in their structure that is designed to adsorb target gas molecules. Their working mechanism is based on changes in the resonant frequency and acoustic wave propagation properties enforced by their sensing layer mass variations. In this chapter, four categories of commonly used acoustic micro sensors are introduced and discussed.
