- W3117831260 abstract "Plasmonic photoconductive antennas are generally used for terahertz wave generation and detection in the time-domain terahertz imaging and spectroscopy systems. The proper performance of a photoconductive antenna is the high optical-to-terahertz conversion efficiency. Here, we present a novel plasmonic nano-antenna array with stepped strips at the edge of contact electrodes that offers better performance compared with rectangular strips. It is shown by simulation that this photoconductive antenna under an optical pump power of 50 mW can transmit light to the low-temperature grown (LT) GaAs substrate more than 95% and does not any reflect. In addition, it is found that photoconductive antenna with stepped strips can produce an optical current of 215 nA and broadband terahertz detection over the 0.1-8 THz frequency range, which shows good improvement over previous structures." @default.
