- W3120486165 abstract "The greatest environmental challenge of today is global warming which is rapidly increasing day-by-day, which is primarily caused by carbon emissions. Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage and computing power, without direct active management by the users. Due to the high demand for cloud computing applications, a very large amount of resources are used to fulfill the cloud computing customers requirements. Most cloud computing providers schedule cloud computing resources to execute customer jobs as soon as possible without taking care of energy wastage due to less utilization of mostly resources that become one of the major sources of carbon emission. Thus, it is necessary to schedule the cloud computing resource such that it utilized fully without overloaded and with taking care of customer response time. In this paper, an energy-efficient system-based algorithm for maximal resource utilization in cloud computing has been proposed to reduce the energy consumption by maximal resource utilization. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm reduced energy consumption up to 20% as compared to existing algorithms." @default.
