Nowadays electrical engineering curriculum has to cover not only the basic knowledge of electrical power systems but also modern technologies to cope with the disruptive issues. One of the important technologies in electrical engineering is a smart grid of which the smallest management unit can be viewed as an isolated unit. The objective of this paper is to develop isolated energy management platform through smart and green building design in order to support active learning in higher education of Electrical Engineering program.
