- W3130609828 abstract "Interest in nano-dispersed dyes or nanocolorant, is rapidly growing because they offer a variety of applications, such as optoelectronic functional materials, textile and nanofiber coloration and medicinal applications. This thesis focuses on the preparation, characterization and optical properties of different nanocolorants. Three parts are mainly involved in this work, including, metal phthalocyanine nanoparticles, nano-dispersion of azlactone dyes and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The first part focuses on a facile preparation of metal phthalocyanine quantum dots-like nanoparticles by application of ultrasonic on an aqueous solution of various surfactants containing phthalocyanine of different metals and under various experimental conditions. These nanoparticles are potentially useful in information storage or display applications, photodynamic therapy, ink-jet inks, etc. The second part involves the synthesis, characterization and optical properties of nano-dispersion of azlactone dyes. Azlactones nanoparticles could be synthesized by dispersing the azlactones dye using ultrasonic waves at ambient conditions. Nano-dispersed particles have been characterized by UV-visible, FTIR, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and fluorescence to reveal the nature of nano-dispersed particles. The third part focuses on developing an eco-friendly approach for the production of AgNPs. Spectrophotometric method was used to monitor the formation of AgNPs under different conditions. Additionally, an ecological and viable approach for the in situ formation of AgNPs on cotton fabrics has been made. Silver nanocoated fabric was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and FTIR. Different coating levels and the impact of repeated washings have been evaluated against different microbial strains by growth inhibition zone. The results of antimicrobial studies reveal that the presence of a low coating level of AgNPs is enough for producing an excellent and durable antimicrobial cotton fabric. The thesis presents an efficient and successful preparation of different nanocolorants in aqueous solution, which would inspire the scientific community to explore their potential applications in different fields." @default.
