- W3131617604 abstract "A numerical simulation of the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of ultra-high-voltage (UHV) power line at X-band over a wide range of incidence angle is presented. The geometry and material properties of a UHV power line are first described, and then the high frequency method (HFM) is used to analyze its electromagnetic scattering characteristics at X-band. Here, two shapes of the UHV power line are considered, including the symmetrical parabola in the case where the adjacent pylons have the same height, and the inclined catenary in the case where the heights of adjacent pylons are different. The simulation results show that the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of a UHV power line are influenced by the incidence angle, the height difference between adjacent pylons, the conductor sag, the aspect angle, and the diameter of power line, which can be potentially used to interpret the practical scattering characteristics of UHV power lines in spaceborne synthetic aperture radar images." @default.
