- W3131769366 abstract "Effective use of simulation requires high quality scenario development and design. Simulation aids emergency physicians who want to teach new curriculum and skills, to improve team performance, to practice high stakes but low frequency events without risk to patients, and to assess and improve systems. These are varied goals and require different simulation scenario designs to meet these goals. Simulation scenarios perform most effectively when they are thoughtfully developed with consideration of the goals of the scenario, the type of learner involved, and the scenario environment. Scenarios also require differing levels of fidelity and reproducibility depending on the unique circumstances in which they will be used. A scenario development template can facilitate a stepwise approach to developing new scenarios. Case banks of existing scenarios can also be useful resources." @default.
