- W3133243392 abstract "One of the most popular methods of processing parts made of hard materials is electrical discharge machining (EDM). This method isn’t a conventional one, therefore it has wide field of learning for engineers. Express diagnostic methods are used to reduce the complexity of technological preparation of production, one of the progressive methods is considered to be the acoustic emission (AE). The way of increasing the efficiency of EDM is synergy EDM and the acoustic emission. Application of AE diagnostic in manufacturing is presented in cutting methods such as turning and grinding, in physic methods such as hydroabrasive and ultrasonic processing. All technological methods are similar to each other for AE diagnostic, also EDM is. The purpose of this work is to show how the emission-technological criterion could be used in any technological method, especially in EDM. In addition, the main problems are discussed, such as waves from thermo- stresses, defects in workpieces before and after machining, and recommendations of solving them in application AE in EDM." @default.
