- W3133573670 abstract "The weak bond cooperativity effect in metal-ligand interactions plays an important role on the polymerization properties in late-transition metal based polyolefin catalysts. In this contribution, a class of iron (II) chloride complexes bearing pendant N-donor modified α-diimine ligands were synthesized and used as precatalysts for ethylene polymerization. The weak Fe–N bond cooperativity effect plays a critical role in α-diimine Fe-catalyzed ethylene polymerization. Upon activation with methylaluminoxane (MAO) or modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO) with the low [Al]/[Fe] molar ratio of 100, ortho-N-piperidyl substituted precatalysts resulted in moderate catalytic activities and highly linear HDPE (high-density polyethylene) with high molecular weights (Mw up to 1.8 × 105 g mol−1) and high Tm (up to 139 °C)." @default.
