- W3134760147 abstract "A lightning discharge near transmission lines induces voltages and currents in conductors of the line. This overvoltages consist of two components – electromagnetic and electrostatic. We call the electrostatic component the current and voltage wave (CVW). The electrostatic one is much less than electromagnetic component in regions where earth have a high electrical conductivity. In permafrost conditions, where the territory has a thick layer of dielectric, the CVW can have parameters comparable with the electromagnetic one. It is confirmed by computational implementations of mathematical models of CVW in a single–wire line. For more detailed investigations it is necessary to have an adequate mathematical models of the CVW in multiconductor transmission lines. In this paper we present the needed mathematical model. Mathematically, the problem is reduced to solving of initial– boundary value problems for the new generalized system of telegraph equations with the special inhomogeneity in equations. This allows us to take into account a presence of permafrost and a time dependence of a lightning current." @default.
