- W313639474 abstract "Reduction of lavatory hot water temperature to tepid (105 deg F) and elimination of cold water faucets may, in some instances, offer a cost effective means for energy conservation. A manual calculation method has been derived from a computer simulation of water systems. This will permit the reader to quickly and easily evaluate his own water system. The mathematical model used for the simulation confirmed three highly effective low/no cost actions for energy conservation in all hot water systems: install a flow restrictor in all hot water taps; apply an insulation blanket to the outside of central water heats, and reduce water temperature to the lowest permissible level." @default.
