- W3138701618 abstract "The THz antennas play important role in various applications such as medical sensing. In this paper, a compact THz antenna based on graphene loads is presented. The basic antenna is a slot antenna and it works at 0.8 THz and the graphene loads in arc-shaped are added to the basic structure and it reduced the operation frequency to 0.65 THz. It means that the graphene is useful for miniaturizing the proposed antenna and also the bandwidth of the antenna increased to 56% for the chemical potential of the 0.8 eV. In addition, the graphene loads are controlling the surface current of the antenna which is important for increasing the Q-factor. Furthermore, this study shows how the chemical potential and relaxation time of the graphene can be used for increasing the Q-factor of the antenna. Based on recent research in the THz spectrum, this antenna is used for detecting the breast cancer cell as an early detection cancer system. In brief, the graphene loads are used for controlling the electric field and it is considered for increasing the bandwidth and Q-factor which are important for cancer detection." @default.
