- W3140168765 abstract "Weightlessness is one of the most important environmental factors in space. It will affect both the eye structure and visual function of astronauts, which not only involves the eye health of astronauts, but also the operation accuracy and timeliness of the space instruments. In this paper, the effects of simulated weightlessness on the eye structure and visual function of animals,as well as the influence of head down bed rest and orbital flight on the eye structure and visual function of humans were summarized. The influences of weightlessness on the eye structure included the apoptosis of the retinal ganglion cells and endothelial cells, the increased thickness of the choroid, the reduced amplitude and extended peak time of visual electrophysiology P100 wave, and the transient change of elevated intraocular pressure, etc. The damages of the weightlessness to the eye structure and visual function and the mechanism were reviewed so as to provide theoretical references for the further study of effects of space flight on the visual system." @default.
