In fact, the atmosphere and the ambient air quality of urban communities that have a warm equilibrium relying upon the Thermal utilizations of structures cause an expansion of two main phenomena in metropolitan areas: urban heat island mitigation and climate change. The aim of this work is to showcase how different building variables and urban parameters can influence buildings and neighborhoods Energy Consumption. In fact, the metropolitan morphology and the nearby atmosphere are urgent viewpoints to improve the energy execution of structures in smaller urban scales. In fact, the shape of an urban neighborhood is the vital boundary in adjusting sunlight-based accessibility in thickly developed regions and therefore lowers the energy consumption of buildings. This thesis examines four neighborhoods in the city of Turin [Italy]: Arquata, Crocetta, Sacchi, and Olympic Village considering their different metropolitan morphologies, their sun powered potential, as well as their urban square typologies found in the city following several periods of constructions: Before 1945, 1946-1980, 1981-1991, 1992-2000 and after 2001. The challenge of this work is to introduce four distinctive energy-use models using the Engineering Tool CitySim Pro software, to contrast their attributes and establish the best highlights of an ideal model to break down and showcase the most effective energy arrangements and best energy approaches for future built cities or neighborhoods by using a sensitivity and a comparative analysis approach. The results of this examination show an immediate connection between the energy consumption of these residential structures and ten main Analyzed variables at building and neighborhood scale are: Building’s Surface to Volume ratio, Building’s opening properties, Building’s Orientation, Building’s indoor Temperature, Opaque envelope Composites and Materials, the Climatic data, the Main Orientations of the Streets {MOS}, the Building Coverage Ratio {BCR}, and the Solar Exposure.
