- W3142436148 abstract "The influence of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) on properties of alloys has been widely known. However, it is still vague for the influence mechanism of EMP on alloy microstructure and one of the biggest debates is whether athermal effect plays a role or not. A special experiment has been designed to explore this problem in this paper. As observed experimentally, micro texture on titanium alloy surface distorts dramatically and collapse occurs at micro zone under the effect of EMP with the Joule effect being minimized to negligible values. Then second order resonance systems are conceived with grains and defects of alloys and a new influence mechanism of EMP on alloys has been put forward that micro texture at different positions can be disturbed to varying degrees accompanied with defects reconfiguration by nonlinear oscillation. This discovery indicates that EMP can be utilized to modify finished part made of alloys." @default.
