- W3143531738 abstract "To examine responses to a COVID-19 impact survey of individuals with TBI and stroke actively engaged in a 12-month group-based healthy lifestyle intervention. Cross-sectional. Community. Individuals with stroke (n = 37, 54.1% female, 70.3% White, age = 58.39) and TBI (n = 31, 25.8% female, 90.3% White, age = 43.63) actively engaged in the larger intervention. None. CoRonavIruS Health Impact Survey (CRISIS) Emotions/Worries Negative emotions were correlated with greater fear due to media coverage (stroke: r = .408, p = .006; TBI: r = .598, p < .001), greater COVID-specific worries (stroke: r = .411, p = .006; TBI: r = .569, p < .001), and greater social isolation (Stroke: r = .558, p < .001: TBI: r = .601, p < .001). For individuals with stroke only, younger age (r = -.353, p = .016) and being employed (r = -.346, p = .018) were also significant. Multivariate regression models predicted 45.9% of the variance in negative emotions for stroke [F(8,28) = 4.82, p = .001] and 48.1% for TBI [F(8,22) = 4.48, p = .002], with social isolation contributing significantly to both models (stroke: beta = .47, p = .001; TBI: beta = .42, p = .024). Employment status was also significant for stroke (beta = -.33, p = .022) whereas COVID-specific worries was significant for TBI (beta = .39, p = .045). Both groups reported negative impacts, particularly social isolation, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Being previously employed was also related to greater negative emotions only for individuals with stroke." @default.
