- W3143560344 abstract "The prime attention of this paper is concerned with the performance characteristic analysis of a Novel Dual Stator Carbon Fiber Frame Rotor Five-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (NDSCFFRFP-PMSM) for electric-vehicles application. In the application of electric vehicles, the motor should have high torque density, high fault tolerant capability and high reliability. Due to the presence of two stators, the torque and power density of proposed motor is high. The presence of non-magnetic rotor increases the reliability, makes the system robust in nature, having high thermal conductivity, reduces the eddy current and hysteresis losses in the rotor core, which ultimately defines the novelty of the model. The two sets of 5-phase windings also ensure their higher reliability and high degree of fault tolerance capability of motor. For performance characteristic analysis, the Finite Element Method (FEM) is chosen on account of its accuracy. For the optimal design, two modes of analysis are considered, namely, magnetostatic and transient. For the evaluation of performances like Back Electromotive Force (BEMF), Percentage (%) of voltage regulation, % of ripple in torque etc., Transient analysis is opted. From the investigation it is inferred that, using non-magnetic rotor frame the efficiency of the proposed dual stator PMSM is very high, which makes this motor suitable for the above application." @default.
