- W3145683996 abstract "To compare the effects of OGTT and bread meal test(equivalent to 75 g of glucose)on the risks for ketonuria and blood glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetic patients. 200 admitted type 2 diabetic patients were random ly divided into two groups in which OGTT and bread meal test were carried out separately. There were 1 00 patients in each group. Incidence and duration of ketonuria. as well as blood glucose change within 24 hours of the test were observed. (1) There were five patients with ketonuria after the test. two in OGTT group (2 ), three in bread meal test group(3 ). There was not difference in the incidence of ketonuria between the tWO groups. The ketonuria in the five patients disappeared after resumption of regular therapy. (2)No difference in glucose level between tWO groups was found within 24 hours of the tests. Com pared w ith the bread m eal test. OGTT does not confer more risk of ketonuria and not cause higher glucose leve1. Therefore OGTT test can be used as a regular test in studying cell function and glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes．" @default.
