- W3147207941 abstract "Abstract Over the years, iron nanoparticles (FeNPs) have pulled researcher’s interest owing to its excellent physico-chemical properties for dynamic applications in different fields. Since, physical and chemical methods are costly and potentially hazardous for the living organisms and environment, biosynthesis approaches are promising and playing a vital role in nanotechnology. The living entity like microorganism, fungi and plant cells can be employed to reduce the metal ions to neutral metal nanoparticles. The shape, size, yield and stability of biosynthesized nanoparticles are highly suitable for environmental remediation. Industrial wastewater contains variety of contaminants are considered as a great threat to living beings and environment. It is very important that pollutants should either be removed or degraded before reaching the natural environment. The FeNPs have good efficiency to treat both organic and inorganic pollutants. Specifically, FeNPs have been found more effective against several dyes, phenols, nitrates, phosphates, chromium etc. This review is focused on bio-synthesis and applications of FeNPs for remediation of environmental contaminants. The studies reported in literature on the topic till date has been critically reviewed and the findings by different researchers all around the world has been presented systematically." @default.
