- W3148332307 abstract "Mergers complicate social identities within companies with disruption of employees as a result. This study examines the effects of two different leadership styles on organizational identification, and the influence of personal identification with leader on this relationship with a content analysis of a sample of 115 companies that involved in merger in the last five years. Analyzing CEO letters to shareholders provided findings in line with previous research on leadership and identification processes within organizations after merger. This study is among the first attempts linking personal identification with a leader to identification with an organization. Furthermore, I explore the field of content analysis building on 109,231 online reviews collected from Glassdoor, an online platform on which employees can anonymously review companies and their management. With a linear regression analysis was found that transformational leadership and personal identification have a direct positive effect on employees’ organizational identification development. Future research can apply this approach as an alternative method to quantifying different identification processes." @default.
