- W3148346596 abstract "Objective To study the clinical features of cerebral infarction(CI) patients acute exposed to highland and compare with those of high altitude cerebral edema(HACE) patients, and to provide reference for avoiding misdiagnosis clinically. Methods The clinical data of 10 patients who had CI due to quickly entering highland and hospitalized in General Hospital of Tibet Command from March 2009 to October 2011 were collected and 40 patients with HACE in the corresponding period were randomly selected as control group. The general data, clinical symptoms, focal neurological signs and assistant examination results were compared between two groups. Results The proportion of CI risk factors(hypertension and diabetes) and positivity rate of focal neurological signs in CI group were significantly higher than those in HACE group(P0.05), however, the incidences of consciousness disturbance and high altitude pulmonary edema were significantly lower in CI group than in HACE group(P0.05).There was no significant difference between two groups in average time before onset of disease and incidence of common symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea and cough(P0.05). Positivity rate of brain CT/MRI scan was higher and WBC count was lower in CI group than in HACE group(P0.05), and no significant difference in haematocrit, RBC, PLT, neutrophilic granulocytes and hemoglobin was found between two groups(P0.05). Conclusion The environment of depression and hypoxia may be a risk factor for CI. The individuals with risk factors of CI should be more careful when entering highlands." @default.
