Proses pemotongan logam dilakukan dengan cara memanaskan logam sampai mendekati titik cair kemudian ditekan dengan semburan gas pada tekanan tertentu, sehingga logam yang akan mencair tersebut terbuang dan logam terpotong. Tujuan dari penyusunan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk menerapkan IPTEK yang didapat dari perkuliahan baik secara teori maupun praktek serta membuat alat las potong yang bisa dipindahkan ke satu tempat ke tempat yang lain dan mudah dioperasikan. Metodologi yang digunakan yaitu mendesain las potong portable dengan menggunakan aplikasi Solidwork, pembuatan las potong portable di sebuah bengkel Ungaran, pengujian dilakukan di laboratorium Tugas Akhir. Las potong portable memiliki ukuran kerangka meja 120x120x50 cm dan hanya bisa digunakan untuk memotong arah membujur dan melintang. Panjang langkah maksimal pemotongan untuk arah membujur dan melintang adalah 70x70 cm dan panjang minimal langkah minimal pemotongan untuk arah membujur dan melintang adalah 10x10 cm. Las potong portable mampu memotong plat besi dengan ukuran tebal maksimal 1,2 cm. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian untuk mendapatkan hasil yang baik pada pemotongan plat besi dengan tebal 10 mm adalah dengan kecepatan potong 0,28 cm/detik untuk pemotongan melintang dan 0,29 cm/detik untuk pemotongan membujur. Metal cutting process is carried out by heating the metal to reach melting point and then pressed with a blast of gas at a certain pressure, so that the melted metal will wasted and clipped. The purpose of this final project is to apply science and technology gained from lectures both in theory and practice as well as make welding cutting tool can be moved to one place to another, and easy to operate. The methodology used is designed the welding cutting tool portable using Solidwork applications, manufacture welding cutting tool portable at a workshop Ungaran, tests performed in the Final Project laboratory. Welding cutting tool portable have a table frame size 120x120x50 cm and can only be used to cut the longitudinal and transverse direction. Length of cutting maximum for the transverse to the longitudinal direction is 70x70 cm and a length of at least minimal cutting for longitudinal and transverse direction is 10x10 cm. Welding cutting tool portable capable of cutting thick steel plate with a size of up to 1,2 cm. Based on the results of testing to get a good result in cutting iron plate with a thickness of 10 mm is the cutting speed of 0.28 cm / sec for transverse cutting and 0.29 cm / sec for longitudinal cutting.Keywords : cutting welding equipment, welding cutting tool portable" @default.
