- W3150117786 abstract "Hepatotoxicity disorders are relatively common in patients with inflammatory bowel disease that includesulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Abnormal serum liver functions tests can develop during treatment with(TNF-?) blocking agents, such as, Infliximab. The aim of this review is to clarify the role of infliximab in thedevelopment of liver enzyme abnormalities in patients with Crohn’s disease. The most common presentationof infliximab -associated liver injury is a hepatocellular type with auto-immune features, marked byincreased serum aminotransferases levels. Cholestatic injury is much less common, and marked by jaundiceand increased serum ALP and bilirubin levels, with elevations of serum ALT and AST. Abnormalities of liverfunction tests in sera of patients with Crohn’s disease typically resolve after discontinuation of infliximab, although sever liver injury leading to liver transplant cannot be ruled out." @default.
