- W3150203247 abstract "The complexes of (Eu3+, Tb3+) with 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) may be decom posed in aqueous solutions, and thus can not be doped in gel glasses prepared by a traditional sol-gel process. Using in-situ synthesis technique, homogeneous silica gel glasses doped with Phen-Eu3+ (or Tb3+) complexes are obtained. Co-introducing Eu3+ (or Tb3+) and Phen into sol-gel derived silica gel glasses, the in-situ complexes of Eu3+ (or Tb3+) with Phen are confirmed to synthesize in the transparent monolithic gel glasses through a suitable heat-treatment by fluorescence spectra. Compared to that in no heat-treatment sample, the fluorescence intensity of Eu3+ (or Tb3+) in the gel glasses heated at 100℃ for 24 h increases by a factor of about 200 (or 300) as a result of the forming of the in-situ Phen-Eu3+ (or Tb3+) complexes. Owing to the shield of silica network, the thermal stability of the in-situ complexes dispersed in gel glasses increases by over 200℃. Moreover, the high resolution emission spectrum of Eu3+ measured at 77K indicates that the symmetry of Eu3+ sites in complex Eu(Phen)2Cl3-2H2O is C1 or C2 or Cs." @default.
