- W3157363208 abstract "The general objective of this study is to determine the information dissemination and correlates of the implementation of the k-12 basic education program in San Jose City, Philippines using descriptive design of research. The sampling design used was random sampling. Data for the study were collected using the questionnaire. Data were analyzed using measures of central tendency and statistics for social sciences. Most of the respondents' ages from 32 to 41 years old, female, married, and college graduates. They were Teacher I. They were in service for one to five years handling 34 to 84 students per class. Almost all of them were subject teachers with no advisory class and other ancillary designation handling different grade levels and subjects. Respondents handling grades VII to IX were asked to attend the division, regional, and even national level training in their specific subjects that they were handling. Communication characteristics show a negative and significant correlation with core curriculum and academic track. The following variables, involvement in developing course outline, involvement in developing instructional materials, knowledge in K-12, and adequacy of materials show positive and significant correlation with the core curriculum, academic track, TVL, and standard principles. The adequacy of facilities indicates a positive and significant relationship with the core curriculum and standard principles. The majority (55.56%) of the respondents agreed that that DepEd has conducted seminars to educate parents and students regarding the implementation of the K-12 program. These activities were done in selected schools like CPNHS (52.73%), London HS (14.53%), and Kita-Kita HS (10.91%) during PTA General Assembly. The orientation lasted for about three to four hours. It was participated by parents and teachers. The number of participants ranges from 15 to 35 to as many as 36 to 56 participants. Topics that were discussed during the orientation were the grading system (61.82%), the K-12 program (10.91%), and courses offered for senior students (9.09%).
