- W3159035370 abstract "Abstract The development of new types of composite material with excellent physical and chemical properties is highly desirable for diverse applications. Among different types of composite materials, metal oxide-polymer composites (especially conducting polymers) have been attractive over the past few decades and applied to various applications because of their special properties, including flexibility, simple synthesis, easy film formation, high electrical conductivity, large surface area, entrapment of biomolecules, and so on. These special properties of metal oxide-polymer composites give them a wide range of applications in electrochemical sensors, supercapacitors, gas sensors, batteries, electrocatalysts, and biomedical, pharmaceutical, and environmental applications. The intention of this chapter is to deliver an overview of the nanomaterials and the importance of the metal oxide-conducting polymer composite as a sensing platform for toxic chemical detection and to address future aspects and current challenges of toxic chemical sensor development for various fields." @default.
