- W3162135823 abstract "연구배경: Peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) is associated with drug resistance and poor prognosis in solid tumors. Although research and clinical application of pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC) are increasing as an alternative to systemic chemotherapy, there is not enough introduction except in some European countries and Singapore. Thus, we conducted an electronic survey for evaluating clinical desire for PIPAC to treat PC in surgical oncologists in Korea.대상 및 방법: We made 19 questions related to PIPAC for this survey, which consisted of 7 questions for the comprehensive information and 12 questions for the procedure information. Between November and December 2019, a total of 164 responders responded to this survey.결과: Specialists dealt with ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, pseudomyxoma peritoneum, and malignant mesothelioma showed the preference to PIPAC as a curative treatment for primary disease. In contrast, those who dealt with hepatobiliary cancer tended to consider it as a palliative treatment for primary disease. Most specialists answered that PIPAC was an excellent choice for treating tumors in their major field (Table 1). As a prerequisite, most of them wanted evidence based on randomized controlled trials and answered that grade 1 or 2 surgical complications were acceptable for performing PIPAC. Most of them responded positively to repeating PIPAC for 4 to 6 cycles under general anesthesia if PIPAC could show a treatment response of 50% or more. In regards to the cost of purchasing the device, respondents preferred in the order of Korean Won (KRW) 1-5 million, KRW 5-10 million, and KRW 10-50 million. Moreover, responders preferred KRW 1-5 million for the cost of one cycle of PIPAC (Table 2).결론: Expectations for PIPAC are positive in surgical oncologists for treating solid tumors with PC based on the acceptable treatment response, complications, and costs." @default.
