To represent the saturation air-gap flux harmonics, fairly complicated phase-domain and/or implicit models have been proposed in the prior literature. In this paper, a new explicit two-axis IM model is developed to include the air-gap harmonics caused by magnetic saturation. The new model is validated by experimental measurements and simulations in various steady state and transient scenarios and is shown to provide accurate results while being simple to implement." @default.
