- W3163157054 abstract "In order to get the fundamental informations that could be used to judge the degree of landslide hazards, both forest and site factors related with the landslides were investigated in Habcheun regions of Hwang river watershed. Many landslides were caused by heavy rainfall during 1981 to 1985 in this study area of 7,975 hectares and consisted of 31g plots having a 500 × 500m grid. Thirteen descriptors were identified and quantified for prediction of landslide hazard by multivarate statistical analysis : slope gradient, stream order, aspect, horizontal slope, vertical slope, altitude, position of slope, vegetation, age group of forest tree, soil texture, bed rock, soil depth, land capability class. The thirteen variables were analyzed to investigate the characteristics of their frequency distribution and to estimate the correlation coefficients between the $quot;landslide$quot; and $quot;non-landslide$quot; group. The landslide hazard was evaluated by discriminant analysis. The main results obtained could be summarized as follow : 1. $quot;landslide$quot; grids were 81 and $quot;non-landslide$quot; grids were 238 out of total 319, and the independence test of two groups was showed at significant. 2. It was observed that the frequency of landslide occurrence was high in 10-Year-old forest, straight in horizontal slope, sandy loam in soil texture, gneissose granite and gneiss in geology, 26˚ to 30˚ in slope gradient, first in stream order and IV class in land capability class. 3. The main factors influencing the landslide were shown in order of age group of forest tree, vertical slope, vegetation, slope gradient, land capability class, soil depth, stream order, bed rock, etc 4. The factors contributing the stable of hill slope were aspect, soil texture, horizontal slope, position of slope, altitude, ect. 5. The forest type which subject to landslide was shown as more dangerous in coniferous forest than deciduous forest and mixed forest, and was showed to be the effect of landslide control by forest tree because landslides were occurred more frequently in age group of 10-year-old forest stand than older stand. 6. Among the soil factors of landslide occurrence, degree of landslide hazard was very high in soil depth of 30㎝ to 60㎝, sandy loam with low land capability class of summit, hillside and piedmont, granite and gneiss. 7. Among the geomorphological factors related with landslide occurrence, degree of landslide hazard was very high at 200m to 300m in elevation, 26˚ to 30˚ in slope gradient, south and southeast on hillside and piedmont in aspect, convex in horizontal slope, straight in vertical slope and first in stream order. 8. The mean score of $quot;landslide$quot; and $quot;non -landslide$quot; group was 0.487 and -0.169 and variance was 0.285 and 0.254 respectively. The boundary value between two groups related to slope stability was 0.14952, and its predicted rate of discrimination was 74.6%. 9. The prediction of landslide occurrence could be devided into class A, B, C and D to the degree of landslide hazard based on the boundary value of discrimination. Class A was 95, class B was 54, class C was 74, class D was 96. And also the rate of landslide occurrence in class A and B was showed at the high perdition as 80.2.% 10. In the score range of the degree of landslide hazard based on the boundary value of discrimination, class A was 0.32 over, class B was 0.05 to 0.32, class C was -0.34 to 0. 05 and class D was -0.34 belolow. 11. The class A and B, which high degree of Landslide hazard were shown with steep slope on hillside and piedmont, etc. The class C was shown in denuded area on piedmont and summit. The class D was showed at a near to stream and alluvium in low land." @default.
